Dear Conference Attendees:
It is my honor to welcome each of you to the General Services Administration Public
Building Services “Together Building Change” Conference. You are the architects,
construction managers, engineers and support providers that literally build up America.
As many of you know, President Obama signed into law the American Recovery and
Reinvestment to commit this Administration to addressing the immediate economic crisis
many Americans face, while also providing the foundations for long-term growth and
prosperity in this country for years to come. This Administration understand the urgency
many communities face, and we are working tirelessly to not just ensure the stocks rise
each night on Wall Street, but to ensure Middle Class Americans have jobs on Main
Street. That is why the central goal of this reinvestment is to jumpstart job creation and
help build long-term growth. We are currently working to guarantee these funds not only
gets out the door, but find their way to the doorsteps of the most deserving organizations
and the hardest working Americans.
The American people are looking to us to get this right, and this Administration is
committed to providing you the best guidance and cooperation we can. You're an
important part of helping this recovery succeed and with all of us working together, we
can build lasting change.
